Women Gather for TWC WM Conference in Kenting, Taiwan

Warm coastal sunshine and breezes welcomed 380 women from all over Taiwan as they met together from August 30 to 31, 2019, for a Women’s Ministries conference in Kenting, Taiwan. These women came together from 54 churches to celebrate what the Lord has been doing for them so far this quinquennium. Also in attendance were 16 women who are not yet members of the church. Dr. Lisa Clouzet, Women’s Ministries director of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, was present throughout the conference and presented the Sabbath sermon entitled “Serving Through His Love” (1 Cor 16:14, Acts 4:13, Eccl 9:10, Col 3:23).

Many Women’s Ministries groups were formed this past year to be intentional about Total Member Involvement (TMI). Besides leading out and attending small group meetings, several of these same women were also involved in evangelistic meetings which took place across Taiwan during 2019. Above and beyond attending these meetings, many women were busy doing what they normally do: caring for their families and homes, working outside the home, and leading out in church activities. The results of what women do all over the world to share Jesus with their families, friends, and others may not be entirely known until Jesus comes, but the women attending the Women’s Ministries conference of the Taiwan Conference (TWC) were able to see some of the results of their prayers and efforts when they witnessed three precious souls being baptized in the Pacific Ocean on Sabbath afternoon. It was touching to see the smiling faces of those baptized as they publicly shared their love for, and surrender to, Jesus Christ. The baptism was witnessed by those attending the conference, as well as by others who happened to be enjoying the beach that day. Pastors Mark Tseng, TWC executive secretary, and Stanley Lo, local church pastor, officiated the baptismal ceremonies.
The celebration throughout the weekend included music, testimonies, skits, time for sharing with each other, and words of encouragement from different leaders. It was an inspirational time for those in attendance and one that helped recharge their batteries to continue serving their families, church, and communities.
May each of us, along with the women of Taiwan, continue to do everything in love, and may all the glory and honor go to God!
