Si Young Kim, D.Min., began his pastoral ministry in 1979, as a local church pastor in South Korea. He also spent time as a chaplain at the Adventist Hospital in the port city of Busan.
Shortly after those modest origins, he became passionate about mobilizing youth for Jesus: first, by serving as the Youth Director for both the Mid-West Korean Conference and the Korean Union Conference, and later by serving as Director of the 1000 Missionary Movement in Silang, Philippines.
After his time abroad, Dr. Kim was called again to minister in his own country, and spent almost a decade as the Director of the SDA Language School system. Dr. Kim also served as President of the Korean Publishing House. Before his was elected as the NSD president, he served as Director of Adventist Mission, and the Coordinator of the Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM), the North Korea Mission, Reach the World, Mission to the Cities, Mission Day and the Curator of Mission Museum in the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD),
On September 13. 2017, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) held a Special Executive Committee (EXCOM) to elect a new NSD president. Dr. Si Young Kim was elected, and his name was recommended to the General Conference Executive Committee. On September 19, the GC EXCOM members voted Dr. Si Young Kim as the new NSD president.
Dr. Kim received his B.A. in Theology from Korea’s Sahmyook University, and both his continuing degrees (M.P.S., D.Min.) from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) in the Philippines. He has two grown children with his loving wife, Myung-Sook, and fervently wishes to see not only his family, but all of God’s children in heaven one day.

Dr. Yo Han Kim, D.P.H is the Assistant to the President for General Affairs, effective June 1, 2021. His job responsibilities are Director of Adventist Mission; Pioneer Mission Movement, City Evangelism, and I Will Go.
Dr. Kim’s ministerial career began as a local church pastor, followed by various assignments that include Director of the 1000 Missionary Movement (1000MM) in the Philippinces, Director of General Affairs at SahmYook Health University, and Uganda KOICA project Team manager(Prison Ministry).
Before he joined the NSD he served as the Mongolia Mission President. Dr. Kim holds a Doctor of Preventive Health Care from the Adventist Universtiy of the Philippines (AUP).
