A weeklong Vacation Bible School (VBS) with the theme "Creation Station" brought many active children, ages 3 to 12, to the 1000 Missionary Movement campus from April 10 to 16, 2016. Some children came from within the campus and nearby houses while otherseven hiked from their hilltop houses to join their friends and neighbors in this fun-filled event to learn more about Jesus Christ, our Creator, our Savior and the children’s best friend.

From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, the children enjoyed various activities. They learned new songs, including “Jesus Is a Winner Man,” “River of Life,” and “Our Creator God Can.”They learned how to pray and talk to God. They enjoyed arts and crafts and actively participated during the health lectures and Bible lessons.
VBS graduation was held on April 17 and was attended by 68 children with parents, relatives and visitors. As the program started, the children marched onwards like little soldiers for Christ with heads held proudly as they wore their golden crowns embedded with precious jewels.
The group leaders, primary and juniors shared the songs they had learned throughout the week. Selected children also recited an acrostic of the word NEWSTART which they had learned from their health lessons. The speaker of the hour was Mrs. Edna Acosta, who spearheaded the VBS.
The children were overjoyed as they received medals for their good deeds from Most Punctual to Most Helpful. Jared, one of the students, shyly mentioned that it was the first time he had received so many medals in a graduation ceremony. Certificates were also given out to all the students. The program successfully ended with everyone singing the song, "I like Vacation Bible School," and a closing prayer. The day ended with laughter, a full stomach and a heart full of love for newfound friends and for our Father in Heaven.
In their innocent smiles and joyful faces can be seen the reason why Jesus said that the "Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children" (Matthew 19:14).Who can give us these sweet smiles, warm heartsand genuine happiness? Only our Creator God can!
