During two very cold days, Mongolia Mission(MM) held its 2014 Annual Council in UlaanbaatarCity. Under the theme, Revival and Prophetic Truth, administrators and leaders from the Northern Asia-Pacific Division and special guests from North American Division listened to reports from the Mission administration and directors. All the reports had a common theme, how much God has blessed this very challenging Mission.
In the last three years, MM has been working under the theme “Moving Forward Together by Faith to a Brighter and Better Future.” Through all the reports, everyone could clearly see how much this motto is making a difference in the lives of workers and church members. In MM, dreams are coming true.
Pastor Elbert Kuhn, the Mission president, shared how much God has blessed Mongolia Mission, especially in the area of development. The highlight was the four new church buildings with four new apartments for their pastors. Another milestone was the renewal of the MM office and the establishment of the dormitory for students. Another excitingevent was the acquisition of a beautiful property to establish a future Adventist education campus.
The leaders shared about their respective areas with enthusiasm and passion. During the meetings and reports, there was a clear idea of integrated evangelism, where all areas are moving toward the same goal in order to reach the dreams stated in theMM strategic plan. Yes, there are many challenges and many obstacles to overcome, but the leaders are aware of the problems and are committed to addressing the issues and to looking for solutions with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
MM is still taking its first steps, but there is clear evidence of a spirit of unity, a shared vision and a commitment from all to make a difference and to leave behind a legacy of a solid foundation for future generations. We are in a hurry to see great things happen, to see the work moving forward and to share the good news with the sons and daughters of God in the four corners of this vast country.
In Mongolia, the work moves by the assurance in the promise granted to Joshua: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go"(Joshua 1:9).As Ellen White stated: “We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past history.”
