The mission dedication ceremony was the grand finale of the 1st NSD International Mission Congress. All the participants embraced a renewed mission vision through this event.
This NSD International Mission Congress was held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Seventh-day Adventist church’s organization. About 4,000 Adventist leaders and members attended from 27 countries including China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, and the USA. They experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit and rededicated their lives to gospel mission.
Dr. Jairyong Lee, NSD president shared the story of Abram La Rue during the mission dedication ceremony. He recounted how La Rue spread the Three Angels’ messages in Asia; including Japan, Hong Kong, and China. Dr. Lee stressed that we must dedicate our lives to accomplish the gospel mission to save perishing souls. Dr. Lee continued by saying “God is calling harvest workers to finish the gospel ministry to hasten Jesus’ second coming in this last age. We must receive the Holy Spirit to spread the Three Angels’ messages unto the ends of the earth.”
The mission dedication service was filled by a sense of God’s grace; His words, and the praise, and prayers of His people. All the participants were renewed in their calling to active mission. They each re-dedicated their lives to God. About 120 leaders of the Adventist church from the GC, several divisions, Unions, and conferences came up to the stage to shout with joy their commitment to God’s call. They affirmed their response by holding their scarves up high. Each scarf had the words ‘Here am I, Send Me!’ written on them in bold letters.
This was followed by each participant lighting a candle to express their willingness to share the light of truth around the world. Then the congregation broke into groups praying two by two for the revival of mission spirit. One participant expressed how meaningful the event was by saying, “My courage and joy in the mission of spreading the Three Angels’ messages is renewed!”
On August 31th, during the last session of the day, several music teams came forward to perform their well-prepared musical programs. These groups were the Golden Angels, KUC Voice of Prophecy choir, MM Descendants, as well as Union and Conference musical teams. Each group shared the joy of praising God with the participants. During this time, all the mission congress participants felt the harmony of heaven.
