Throughout its approximately 25 years of history, Mongolia Mission (MM) has grown successfully by the grace of the Lord. As has also been the case in other parts of the world, we have received many missionaries from different countries who, along with faithful and dedicated local Adventists, have been a blessing for our church and for non-Christians in this land of the “Eternal Blue Sky.” But now, the church in Mongolia is about to witness another remarkable event, which is, indeed, a turning point in its relatively short period of gospel work. MM, with the support of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD), is sending abroad the first official Mongolian missionary as a Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) pastor!
Pastor Nyamdavaa D., former MM ministerial secretary and evangelism director, accepted this challenge wholeheartedly. With 16 years of pastoral experience, he and his family are going to serve in Inner Mongolia , China. With this visionary and bold initiative, the church in Mongolia is taking a huge step to spreading the gospel in new and still unreached boundaries, contributing to global mission efforts as well as to “Vision One Million 2020” within the NSD territory.
“In 2005 I went to China on a mission trip, and I met about 27 young people over there, training them for 10 days. One lady gave me a small card, which had this written on it: ‘Never forget us. Now remember that you also have “other sheep” (John 10:16).’ I read that card during my trip back to Mongolia, and I cried because it deeply touched my heart. I prayed to God at that time: ‘If you call me some day, I will accept your call to be a missionary in that region.’ Since 2005, I have visited Inner Mongolia many times, and eventually, in 2016 my heart felt such a big burden, I couldn’t even sleep at night because of the sense of God’s call. Now, I’m ready to go to China along with my family in order to serve the people of Inner Mongolia. Once a missionary, always a missionary. This is my life purpose!” concluded Pastor Nyamdavaa.
Pastor Kim YoHan, MM president, made some remarks about this historical moment: “I’m so moved by Pastor Nyamdavaa’s decision. I’ve prayed a lot for him and his family so that God may stand by him during this new missionary challenge in Inner Mongolia. I’m sure that our Lord will help him fulfill His mission and will.”
Let us unite in our prayers for them!
