“The Best You Can Be”

TWC Ministerial Spouses Association Retreat

The Taiwan Conference Ministerial Spouses Association aims to provide a platform that combines learning, growth, interaction, participation, communication, and dialogue. This helps pastor’s wives in TWC establish a holistic view of ministry that includes body, mind, and soul, helping them to face the joys and challenges in pastoral ministry. This year, TWC Ministerial Spouses Association organized its annual Retreat from Sep.30-Oct.2, 2023. The event included sessions on the role of the pastor’s wife, interpersonal skills, re-creating pastoral couples’ relationships, and activities such as group discussion, prayer sessions and fellowship. This year, wives from various regions enthusiastically participated in the event, surpassing previous attendance numbers.

We were honored to have Raquel Arrais from the NSD Ministerial Association as the main speaker. Her insights profoundly inspired the pastors’ wives. Her words illuminated the broader scope of service for them. “We are not confined within the walls of our own churches; we are meant to venture out, connect with new souls, and engage in the ministry of relationships. It is through extending comfort, encouragement, and sharing that we, too, experience personal growth and the joy of service,” Arrais said.

“We express our profound gratitude to Raquel Arrais for her meticulous preparation for each session where all the participants were deeply moved,” said Winona, TWC Ministerial Spouses Association coordinator.

We firmly believe that through this Ministerial Spouses meeting, pastors’ wives have been deeply nourished in body, mind, and spirit. Whether through the enriching seminars, the thoughtful messages of our speaker, or the hands-on activities, the retreat brought new commitments, blessings, and inspiration to continue our ministry along with our spouses in these challenging times.

We offer our gratitude to God for orchestrating this retreat in such a beautiful way. Through Him, yes, we can be “the best we can be.”

Let the kindness of the Lord our God be over us. Make the work of our hands last. Make the work of our hands last!” Psalm 90:17
