Taitung church, which was planted by PMM Pastor Chun JaeSong and has fifty church members, made a plan for constructing the church building right after they purchased a property in October 2012. The church had a groundbreaking service in April 19th, 2014, and finished the construction of the church building in late November last year. The new two-story church building, which has a floor space of 370 square meters, is composed of a main hall for divine services, a youth room, a cafeteria, dwelling space for ministers, and guest rooms. It totally costs 260 thousand USD to construct the church building.
Not only Taitung church members, but many other people including Adventists in Korea and Taiwan, Middlewest Korean Conference, and one Taiwan benefactor financially helped the church to complete the construction. Above all, it would not be finished without prayers of many Adventists all over the NSD territories.
Chen, Jianshan, one of Taitung Church members, said, “I am familiar with numbers and tend to represent something numerically. Through the church construction, however, I could realize that there is something beyond numbers and figures in God’s church. The grace and power of God is above all the numbers in this world.” Another member, Siao, Choushang, also gave a testimony. “ I thank God for his blessings. He enables me to be more devoted through this event. Now I feel much more sense of belonging to our church than before. I experience the word of Mark, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Pastor Chun JaeSong said, “The one thing our church members and I am so sure is that we did not build this church but God did. We are seeing not just a church building, but God’s blessing. Moreover, it has been a pleasure for me as a Pastor of Taitung Church seeing the church members has experienced God’s mighty hand and their faith grown. I pray that the gospel of His kingdom will be spread in the whole world through this church.”
Dr. Jairyong Lee, NSD president, gave a sermon to the attendees at the dedication service. He encouraged to them, saying, “I hope at this beautiful church, all of the members worship God with truth, learn His word, love one another, and preach His gospel to the world.”
