Spiritual Journey with 10 Days of Prayer in NSD

The Northern Asia-Pacific Division began the new year with a spiritually enriching 10 Days of Prayer Week from January 8 to 18, 2025. During this time, participants sang “Sweet Hour of Prayer” as a theme song every morning, and each departmental director took turns leading the sessions. Later, participants shared prayer requests and spent time in collective prayer, fostering a deeper connection with God and each other. Significantly, this period coincided with the training period for PCM missionaries, who also participated in the 10 Days of Prayer.

The overarching theme of this year’s devotional reading was “But When You Pray.” Dr. Pavel Goia, editor of Ministry magazine, wrote the devotional reading. The content explored profound spiritual lessons drawn from the Lord’s Prayer and Jesus’ teachings. The reflections delved into topics such as the sanctity of God’s name, the realization of God’s kingdom on Earth, and the transformative power of forgiveness in one’s relationship with God.

A highlight of the week was the “Secret Prayer Friends” program. Participants randomly selected a name to become their secret prayer friend for 10 days. Throughout this period, they prayed for their chosen friend, focusing on their unique needs and seeking God’s guidance and blessings. Some participants expressed their care and gratitude by offering small gifts or words of encouragement on the final day.

One attendee shared, “Praying for my secret friend helped me become more aware of their needs and taught me to love more deeply through prayer.” The program not only emphasized intercessory prayer but also provided an opportunity to foster deeper understanding and spiritual connection among participants.

The prayer week emphasized moving beyond merely presenting personal needs to God. Instead, participants were encouraged to hold onto God’s promises and grow in faith. A key message from the devotional materials was, “Prayer is a time to strengthen our faith and a process of being transformed into God’s image.”

Through this process, attendees gained insights into shifting their focus from their weaknesses to the person of Jesus Christ. This shift led to profound spiritual changes and a greater awareness of God’s purpose and blessings in their lives. One participant remarked, “When I fix my eyes on Jesus instead of myself, I experience a deeper spiritual transformation.”

The 10 Days Prayer concluded with a renewed sense of faith and hope. Attendees left the event inspired to embrace the coming year with spiritual vigor, trusting in God’s plans and blessings. Many expressed their anticipation for a year filled with spiritual abundance and deeper connections with God and their community.
