Sharing the Love with Children with Special Needs

Every one of us enjoys gifts. And amongst all of them, a child is the most precious gift and comes from God the Almighty. “Share the Love” was the theme of the outreach program in April 2022 organized by the departments of Adventist Possibility Ministry (APM), Children’s Ministries and Volunteer Community Service of Mongolia Mission (MM). The service aimed to reach children with disabilities.

All children are valued in God’s eyes. And we should not forget that we are all born separated from God because of sin and therefore we all experience sickness, disease, pain, fear and sadness, disabilities, and many more to add. But God loves us unconditionally. Love is the most important thing and if love is removed from life all things will become meaningless for God created the world with love. Therefore, this is the gospel that should be delivered to all human beings: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son” (John 3:16).

At the beginning of March 2022, a survey about disabilities was held throughout the churches in Mongolia Mission with 32 parents of children with disabilities participating in the questionnaires. The results showed 17 out of the 32 children were born in Christian families and 15 of them were born in non-Christian families. We contacted each family asking for the most wanted or needed things they would love to get as a gift for their child. A food mixer, wet wipes, diapers, body lotion and body soap, clothes, stuffed toys, and other supplies were requested, and the gifts were prepared accordingly.

On Apr 22, 2022, a special worship and mission program of “Share the Love” was held at Emmanuel Church. The church was chosen because it was accessible for children with wheelchairs. The special program was held by Mongolia Mission APM department and Volunteer Community Service members. Pastor Nyamsuren Myagmar, the preacher of the day, welcomed all the special guests of the day. Every child as well the parents were happy that they were involved in such a social activity. They all loved the gifts they received. Also, on that day, 1200 copies of APM brochures were distributed.

This special outreach program could be possible with the help from those who contributed financial resources, volunteered to prepare those various gifts and meals, and were dedicated to helping in this program.
