Second Commissioning Ceremony for Public Campus Ministries Missionaries

Public Campus Ministries (PCM) held a commissioning ceremony for seven young people on November 9, 2019, at Byeollae Church, Korea. These young people were appointed to spread the Three Angels’ Messages as the second batch of PCM missionaries of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD). They will all be serving in Taiwan.

Elder Ted Wilson, president of the General Conference, who was in Korea in order to attend the NSD Annual Council, joined the ceremony with members of the Byeollae Church. Elder Wilson greeted the Korean church members by saying “Happy Sabbath” in the Korean language, followed by an inspiring message to the seven young missionaries as well as Korean Adventists. “Missionaries are an axis of all the evangelism that the Adventist Church seeks, but missionaries are not the only ones to do mission work. We are all missionaries. Each of you must be a powerful witness of God. The covenant of the second coming of Jesus and the hope of eternal life should be proclaimed. Commit as a messenger of the gospel. Pray for a change of heart. Let this meeting today be an opportunity to reconfirm that.”
NSD president Kim SiYoung also gave a message of encouragement to the missionaries. “You may face challenges, trials, and unforeseen difficulties in your mission fields. However, do not be afraid. You are never alone. The living God will be with you. I hope you have an experience of giving yourself entirely to God. He will give you a clear and wonderful victory. Complete the mission by the power of God.”
Representing the second batch of the PCM missionaries, Ms. Chung SungHwa recited the PCM mission statement. “I would like to join in making another witness of Jesus so that this generation can share the gospel of the Lord with the next generation, as we have come to know Jesus Christ through the previous generation. We come to the Lord empty-handed. We want to be hands praying for our students when they are scattered across campus.”
PCM is a mission movement for college campuses, which enables its missionaries to spread the gospel of God to college students. The NSD was the first of the thirteen Divisions of the Adventist Church to set up this movement.
