Praise the Lord! Somebody Just Called!

Since arriving in Indonesia, I’ve been visiting local churches almost every Sabbath to promote our ministry. I have also been visiting mission fields to hold evangelistic meetings, but that hasn’t been easy since I do not have a vehicle. Since a vehicle is necessary to visit mission fields and to provide training to missionaries, I started praying that the Lord would provide. I also asked some donors in Korea for help. However, I did not hear back from any of them.

As time went on, I became impatient, and I leased a car for some time. Unfortunately, there were some problems with the leased car, which resulted in considerable financial loss. I hadn’t understood what road conditions were like in Indonesia. The way to some mission fields were quite rough. My wife and I did not know what to do. I was worried to the point I could not sleep for several nights.

As God had come through miraculously when I had moved here, I was reminded that the only option I had was to pray. I desperately clung to God in prayer, and despite the financial loss, I returned the leased car and decided to purchase a vehicle. I left everything in God’s hands and left the campus to head downtown.

Exactly five minutes later, I received a phone call from my wife.“Honey, praise the Lord! An elder called from Korea, and he wants to give a donation so that we can purchase a car.”

I was overjoyed. The elder soon called me and confirmed that he would like to make a donation. Was it a mere coincidence? Or does God provide for the needs of the ministry at just the right time?

After that, there were several others who called from not only Korea, but also Japan, telling me they would like to donate for the ministry. When we were requesting donations, no help came, but all of a sudden, people kept calling in. The donations exactly matched the cost of the car. It was definitely a gift from God.

I realized again that there is nothing I can do but pray. I am convinced that this is the Lord’s work and that Hewill lead.
