Pioneer Missionary Movement (PMM) missionaries all over the world gathered together after the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) International Mission Congress, they had a revival meeting to have time to recharge themselves for mission at the Jeju Wonder Resort from September 1 to 3, 2013.
Missionaries shared their mission experiences, and sought a way to develop the gospel work in places where there are different histories, cultures, social backgrounds, and religions. They were specially trained to be a witness of Christ, breaking through cultural boundaries, and old customs.
“I know you’ve all worked hard in the barren, and inconvenient mission field. I really appreciated that your tears, and passions have developed the gospel work of the church,” said Dr. SiYoung Kim, NSD PMM Coordinator.
“It is our great privilege to participate in the mission work. In order to successfully accomplish it, we need to deeply understand cultures of your field, and act wisely as well, as we must be armed with a sacrificial mission spirit, and strong faith. I hope you can gain many benefits through the various training, and lectures prepared for you,” said Dr. Jairyong Lee, NSD President.
Before his departure from Korea, Elder Ted Wilson, General Conference (GC) President was also present. He recalled the life of the Apostle Paul, and said, “There should be no limitation in the gospel. Although through your challenges you will face a variety of difficulties, God will guide your steps. I wish that God’s never-failing love will be preached to the ends of the world through the PMM. Go in the name of Christ.”
As the main speaker, Dr. Cheryl Doss, World Mission Institute Director, suggested mission information, and methods in various areas such as “Mission in the Bible”, “Culture and Me”, “Unchangeable Biblical Values Established”, and “Cultural Shock.”
The meeting was a meaningful time for participants to reconfirm the enormity of the mission, and the importance of the gospel work. They were reminded of the reason, and purpose of their devotion, and resolved to go to the ends of the world with the gospel.
At this time, 47 PMM missionaries are working in 15 countries including Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Philippines, Congo, and Kyrgyzstan.
