PMM Missionary Family Homecoming Ceremony

On February 24, 2024, the Adventist Mission department of NSD hosted a Homecoming Ceremony for the PMM (Pioneer Mission Movement) missionary families. This event featured the families of missionaries Park NoYoung-Im IJin, Jung JiHun-Shin EunJu, and Lee HyouSin-Lee EunHwa, among others, including the missionaries’ families. Pastor Kim SunHwan, director of the NSD Adventist Mission department, led the event, where missionaries shared their experiences and testimonies about God they encountered in their mission fields.

Pastor Park NoYoung, serving as a 3rd batch of PMM in Mongolia and 14th batch of PMM in Taiwan, said, “God has bestowed a lot of grace on us. Watching the church stabilize and grow, I realized it was entirely God’s grace,” and “The God I met in the mission field wants everyone with me to be happy, regardless of my performance or even if I face difficulties.”

Pastor Jung JiHun, who worked as a 9th and 18th batch of PMM missionary in Qingdao, China, and Myanmar, confessed, “I thought I could achieve something as a missionary, but my experiences in the mission field taught me that without God, I cannot undertake any mission.” He added, “I believe all of us are missionaries who can unite in one voice, no matter our role or location.”

Pastor Lee HyouSin, a 19th batch of missionary with ADRA in Cambodia for four years, shared, “Evangelism and mission need a point of contact, and effective connections can create significant mission synergy between the church and society.” He continued, “ADRA, a great organization, has shown me the valuable bridge it forms between the church and the world,” and “The God I encountered in the mission field surpasses my expectations and hopes, always providing the best.”

President Kim YoHan delivers a benediction to the missionaries.

After the missionaries’ testimonies, the Adventist Mission department presented letters of appreciation and bouquets. Then, Kim YoHan, president of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, offered a benediction, saying, “Their testimonies moved us beyond what sermons could. We’ve heard about the tears they shed in the mission fields. I trust God knows all their efforts, challenges, loneliness, and frustration.” He concluded, “I trust that the fragrance of Jesus Christ will linger in the mission fields they served. Let’s pray for their return to their mission fields, hoping the churches they served will receive blessings and grow spiritually and numerically.”
