[On Site] Altar of Gratitude dedicated at the Centennial Celebration of Pakistan Adventist Seminary & College's

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Pakistan Adventist Seminary & College (PASC), Korean Pastor Gee Seong-bae, the President of PASC, dedicated an altar of gratitude and worship to the God of Ebenezer.

Supported by Korean church members, the nursing college building was completed, along with preparations for the university’s centennial celebration.

Simultaneously, a ceremony introduced the Urdu Publication of The Spirit of Prophecy, led by the Korean Publishing House (KPH), setting the stage for local evangelism.

On December 2nd, the Pakistan Adventist Seminary & College hosted a Thanksgiving and Dedication service at its auditorium and campus. The event was attended by students, faculty, local church members, and esteemed guests from various countries, including Korea, Japan, the USA, Australia, and Brazil, all coming together for this joyous celebration.

During the Sabbath School session, diverse programs were held, reflecting on a century of history and outlining visions for the future. Vice President Dr. Rehmat Khan conveyed gratitude, remarking, “Reaching this remarkable milestone is a result of God’s blessings and your dedication. Let’s strive for excellence and greater potential in the centuries ahead.”

In a commemorative sermon, a representative from the General Conference’s Institute of Islam Studies said, “Let’s remember God’s plans and promises for us. His unchanging nature assures us. We have confidence in God’s providence that shapes and guides the world through education. We should serve as a beacon to the world, demonstrating to our local community and neighbors the true essence of Second Advent faith and Christian life. May this school and its community faithfully embody that purpose.”

The Korean Union Conference contributed 100 million KRW to help establish the PASC nursing college through the ’10/40 Window Mission Project.’ Additionally, the Korean Publishing House (KPH) (President Nam Soo-myung) sponsored Urdu prophecy publications and a Bible study series, including “Steps to Christ” (10,000 copies) and “The Desire of Ages” (3,000 copies) in the local language Urdu. An anonymous donor provided 1,000 copies of the Bible study Guide series “It Is Written.”

President Im Yeon-joo of the Pakistan Union Conference extended heartfelt gratitude to the Korean Union Conference, diverse institutions, churches, and believers, stating, “Your unwavering commitment won’t just impact Pakistan but will sow seeds for Muslim evangelism as well. I earnestly seek continuous support and interest in global outreach, spreading the gospel worldwide.”

Roger Kaderma, President of the South Asia-Pacific Division, extended thanks to the Korean Union Conference and Korean churches. He expressed special thanks to Korean leaders like Pastors Im Yeon-joo, Gee Seong-bae, and Nam Gyeong-won, who strive for Pakistan’s mission. He wished for the further growth of Pakistani missions based on these activities, emphasizing that there’s still much to be done in this region.

Kang Soon-gi, President of the Korean Union Conference, shared a hopeful message during the visit, affirming, “Blessed is the one who holds this book. Those who read it shall receive blessings, and those who apply its teachings will experience the greatest blessings. May this book reach those in despair, spreading the message of salvation widely and witnessing remarkable stories of our Lord’s imminent return.”

Later that afternoon, a commemorative ceremony honored Dr. Robert Reynolds, who was tragically shot by assailants while serving as a Bible professor in 1966, and Babcock, the former university president who courageously resisted the government’s forced nationalization in 1972, safeguarding the university. President Gee Seong-bae commented, “They devoted their lives to the Lord. We profoundly appreciate their dedication and bravery, and the significant spiritual legacy they’ve left will continue to deeply inspire in this era.”

Pakistan Adventist Seminary & College, the nation’s sole educational institution rooted in Christian principles, was established in 1920. However, the centennial celebrations were postponed until this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Encompassing an area of over 40,000 square meters, the university provides educational programs ranging from elementary to university levels. Additionally, it hosts kindergartens and community learning centers catering to local residents. Despite being in a Muslim-majority country, approximately 800 students from across the nation observe the Sabbath while receiving prophetic education. The university offers programs in theology, business, and education departments.
