NSD Year-End Meeting Day 2: Worship, Vision, and Mission Reports

The second day of the year-end meeting, which is being held from November 7 to 11, 2024, has come to an end. This meeting brings together leaders from eight countries within the NSD to share mission reports and discuss key agenda items.

Erton Kohler, Executive Secretary of the General Conference, leads the morning worship.

Erton Kohler, Executive Secretary of the General Conference, led the morning worship and shared the story of the Good Samaritan. He emphasized, “Use all your abilities to care for, restore, and save the wounded that the Good Samaritan puts into your hand.” He also encouraged attendees by saying, “If our greatest dream is the crown of glory, you can work relying on that reward.”

Hiroshi Yamaji, Executive Secretary of the NSD, presents the report.

Following the worship, Hiroshi Yamaji, Executive Secretary of the NSD, presented the Executive Secretary’s Report. Then, mission reports from four new countries recently joined under NSD—Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal—were shared. Representatives from each country expressed their gratitude to NSD and pledged to maintain close cooperation for future missions.

The prayer session on the second day focused on mission work in North Korea. Attendees gathered in groups to pray earnestly for North Korean defectors and for doors to open for mission work in North Korea.

The afternoon schedule began with a Vision Seminar led by Paul Douglas, Treasurer of the General Conference, who discussed the importance of financial management and suggested strategies for efficiency. Next was a seminar by Petras Bahdur, Director of the Global Center for Adventist-Muslim Relations, on Adventist-Muslim Relations, where he introduced a fresh approach to Muslim mission work through a reinterpretation of the Three Angels’ Message in Revelation 14.

Finally, attendees traveled to Sahmyook University to attend a service commemorating the 120th anniversary of the Adventist mission in Korea. The service featured a musical performance, and attendees enjoyed a meaningful time together to conclude the second day.
