NSD Week of Spiritual Emphasis

The NSD office family had the special joy of precious time in God’s Word during its 2014 Week of Spiritual Emphasis. Our speaker, Dr. Ella Smith Simmons, General Vice President of the General Conference shared motivating messages from the book of James.

Beginning with James 1 on Monday, Dr. Simmons invited us to be aligned with God and focus on His mission. On Tuesday, May 2, the message from James 2 compelled us to action inactive  witness. James 3 encouraged us to be accountable to each other for encouragement and correction. On Thursday she shared from James 4 aboutachievement in our witness through complete surrender to God and His purposes. On Friday, we concluded our study in James 5 by remembering that we are awaiting the second coming. This joy is our hope in suffering, and courage for ministry.

After each message we bowed for united prayer mentioning each part of the NSD mission territory, asking God to multiply our fruitfulness in mission for His kingdom. As we sang our theme song, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” we felt renewed spiritual commitment and courage to serve God in our NSD mission territory.

We want to thank Dr. Simmons, and her husband, Nord, for coming to Korea to give us such a blessing. We also thank the In House Revival & Reformation Committee members for their careful preparations. And we appreciated the NSD office family members that shared beautiful messages in music to prepare our hearts for the messages from God’s Word.
