NSD Member Countries Reflect and Plan Together at Year-End Meetings

The Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) member countries held their 2024 Year-End Meetings to discuss fellowship, strategic planning, and spiritual renewal. These meetings allowed church leaders, members, and guests to unite to advance their shared mission. South Korea was the first to host its Year-End Meeting, and Sri Lanka concluded the series of meetings across the member countries. Notably, four countries —Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal—participated in their first Year-End Meetings since joining the NSD.

This year’s Year-End Meetings theme was “Called to Be Faithful – Commandments of God and Faith of Jesus.” This theme emphasizes the dual pillars of the Adventist faith: upholding God’s commandments and embracing the faith exemplified by Jesus Christ. It served as a rallying call for members to remain steadfast in their spiritual commitments and mission, reflecting the church’s core principles.

Kim YoHan, President of the NSD, visited each country to encourage participants and deliver his message. He highlighted various signs of biblical prophecy fulfillment, including “the rising frequency of natural calamities” and “observable changes in the sky, earth, and sea.” Dr. Kim also addressed “the misuse of technology and excessive reliance on social media,” urging believers to treat these as a wake-up call. “Strengthen your faith, live faithfully according to God’s commandments, and prepare for Jesus’ return,” he emphasized.

Hiroshi Yamaji, Executive Secretary of the NSD, and Kim TaeSeung, Treasurer of the NSD, shared the message with the participants. Pastor Yamaji emphasized that genuine repentance is needed for all of us to carry on His mission, and Elder TaeSeung shared the presentation on “Mobilizing Resources for Mission.”

Each country used the Year-End Meetings to discuss proposed agendas and review the ministry activities accomplished throughout the year. Leaders and members reflected on the progress made and sought ways to further enhance their commitment to advancing the church’s mission. These meetings underscored the unity and shared vision among the NSD member countries as they look ahead to the future with faith and determination.
