The week of January 7-11, 2013 brought a special time of spiritual renewal to the team of workers in the NSD office. We had our annual week of spiritual emphasis. Each day we began with music from the talented musicians around the office. This was followed by a sermon from Dr. Willie Hucks, associate Ministerial Director and associate editor of Ministry Magazine of the General Conference. He presented the theme of “True Biblical Spirituality”.
Each day we were blessed by another clear message of hope from the Bible.
Monday: “What Does Biblical Spirituality Look Like?” (Romans 12:1, 2)
Tuesday: “Loving the God of the Word” (Psalm 19:7-10)
Wednesday: “Surrendering Totally to God’s Will” (Luke 22:39-42)
Thursday: “Treating Others With a Divine Touch” (Matthew 20:25-28)
Friday: “Obeying God’s Commands” (John 15:9-14)
We followed each message with a season of prayer. Dividing into groups of two or three we presented our prayers to the Lord. We closed our meeting singing together, “The Lord is My Light”.
All in attendance were blessed. One employee shared, “Dr. Hucks shares in simple English the message of a loving God. It warmed my heart. I know this week has brought me closer to God!”
Now the Division Office Administrators, departmental leaders, and supporting ministries can move forward into a new year. We know that God will walk with us and keep us close to Him.
