NSD 2024 Mid-Year Meeting Ends with Emphasis on Mission and Future Goals

The second day of the Mid-Year Meeting began with a devotional program on May 22, 2024. Philip Ko, the Executive Secretary of TWC, delivered a message titled “Grapes or Giants.” He emphasized that God’s promise often comes with the size of grapes, not the size of giants, urging attendees not to let giants—whether individuals or social giants—determine our future.

The second day of the Mid-Year Meeting is also hosted through Zoom.

Before the meeting officially started, Kim YoHan, President of the NSD, shared news about Ganoune Diop, PARL Director of the GC, who is recovering from a dire health situation and requested prayers for his recovery. He also advised the participants to take care of their health. This was followed by a mission report from Andrew Gi, a PCM missionary, who shared updates and situations from his mission field and earnestly requested prayers from the attendees.

Next, Kim SunHwan, Adventist Mission director of NSD, presented the Mission Refocus, explaining the inclusion of four new countries into the NSD. He stated, “God gave our Division the privilege to work with Him at the last stage of the Great Controversy. Our God has called the Northern Asia-Pacific Division from the comfort zone to the front lines of the battlefield.” Reports then continued with updates on the 10/40 Window Mission project, the Sri Lanka Mission, and the Himalayan Section.

During the Business Session, the leaders discussed and resolved the agenda. Key issues included the Delegate Quotas for the GC Session 2025, the NSD working policy, the 2025 NSD Meetings, and special days and events.

Finally, at the Closing Dedication Ceremony, President Kim asked, “What exactly is our mission?” He emphasized, “Mission is not about our work for God but about God’s work through us. Mission is a Miracle,” and urged everyone to “Let us move forward with a sense of urgency.” Thus, the 2024 Mid-Year Meeting concluded.
