Mission Wide Spiritual Revival Meeting

From February 14 to 17, 2024, the North Bangladesh Mission organized a 3-day Spiritual Revival Meeting at the Monosapara Adventist Seminary and School. One thousand mission-spirited individuals from every local church gathered to hear the gospel. The congregations were enlightened through spirit-filled messages, songs, testimonies, prayer, and other programs.

Pastor Kim WonSang, President of the Bangladesh Adventist Union, was present as the keynote speaker, along with other departmental directors. A colorful inauguration program was officiated by Pastor Benjamin Mrong, President of the North Bangladesh Mission, with the support of other mission offices, district pastors, and Monosapara Adventist Seminary and School administrators. Pastor Dilip Hagidok, Stewardship Director of the Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission, offered a dedication prayer.

The key text was Matthew 16:27, “For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” Pastor Kim WonSang gave a thematic presentation on ‘Theology of Emptiness’ during the first day of evening worship. His second thematic sermon was on ‘Theology of Servant,’ where he urged all participants to exemplify the service model for humankind’s greater joy. He challenged them to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). In his final remarks on Sabbath day, he reflected on the theology of life.

Other speakers such as Pastor Timothy Roy, Pastor Dilip Hagidok, Pastor Bernard Ashim Baidya, Pastor Reuben Kisku, Pastor Benjamin Mrong, and Pastor Henry H. Hajong richly blessed the congregations. There was a prayer movement session and a thanksgiving program where people with pure hearts shared their life-changing experiences, testimonies of blessings, and miracles they received from the Lord Jesus Christ. As individuals from all walks of life presented their prayer requests, all ordained pastors knelt on the ground, asking for divine mercy and blessings upon them through intercessory prayer. The fruit of this revival meeting was the baptism of 41 souls.

It was a significant revival meeting that remembered the pioneers and missionaries who devoted themselves to the journey of Adventism in the territory of the North Bangladesh Mission. Despite challenges, everyone pledged to renew their dedication and refocus on their mission to reach the three-angel message beyond Adventist communities.
