The 15th batch of Golden Angels, the singing missionaries of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD), held their annual concert on November 3, 2018, at the Sahmyook University auditorium in Seoul, Korea, under the theme of “Hope for All Nations.” Since this concert celebrated the 15th anniversary of Golden Angels ministries, all the members from the first batch to the 16th new group came up on stage and filled it with beautiful praises and testimonies.
The eight singing missionaries of the 15th batch moved the hearts of the audience with the songs “We Are Children of God,” “When God Comes to Me,” “Song of Praise,” “Seeking Faithfulness,” and “I’ve Got Joy.” They also sang “We Need Each Other” and “The Truth Is Marching On” with the 12th and 14th Golden Angels.
A video clip was shown that illustrated their mission work here and there in the NSD territories. Each of 15th Golden Angels members gratefully acknowledged the privilege of serving as a “singing missionary,” confessing God’s amazing providence that led them to this place. They had left their schools and workplaces, had been apart from their beloved families and hometowns, and had served one year in the vast territories of the NSD.
On the day of the concert, the NSD delivered a plaque of appreciation to the 15th Golden Angels members who led many people to Christ and helped them be prepared for the Second Coming of Jesus. Part of the profit from the concert was donated to the North Korea mission fund.
NSD president Kim SiYoung introduced the Golden Angels as singing missionaries who use the beautiful talents received from God in order to testify the gospel and to bring souls to Christ. He said, “It is because of the missionary spirit that we are touched by their music. Because their songs are the testimony that expresses the love and salvation of God, the music has the power to change souls.”
Pastor Kim NakHyung, NSD music ministries director, said, “Those who are called to be singing missionaries personally experience the grace of God and the love of church members, and through these experiences, they can’t help but preach the love of Jesus Christ through their songs to new believers and lead them toward heaven.”
The Golden Angels singing missionaries was established in 2004 to support the mission work of the Pioneer Missionary Movement, youth camp meeting, and church and school visits. Eight young volunteers are selected for Golden Angels ministry every year, and they use their musical talents by singing the gospel. They carry out not only singing but various other mission activities in a number of countries, including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Mongolia, and China.
The Privilege of Being a Singing Missionary
I have learned and have experienced the guidance of God through this one year as a Golden Angels singing missionary. God led me to join this ministry so that I could meet Him personally and know Him better. God was always listening to my prayer and was willing to bless me with the best thing. I am excited to see how He will lead in my life, and I know a life led by God will always be wonderful!
– Lee JuEun (Golden Angels 15th)
E. G. White commented, "No man is safe for a day or an hour without prayer” (The Great Controversy, 530). Yes! During the Golden Angels ministry, a day without prayer is a dangerous life. I pray that God will help me continually to understand more of His precious Word and make it as my armor whenever I face daily life struggles.
– Airen Palarao (Golden Angels 15th)
When you hear of a theology student, you probably think of a “pastor.” But not me! I grew up learning about being a pastor, and I know it is not easy. But God has led me to this Golden Angels ministry, and He has let me learn and realize many things in doing God’s work through the influence of the PMM pastors in each mission field we’ve been. PMM pastors sacrifice a lot for God’s ministry. And that’s the reason why I have decided to continue my study, and I will be a pastor someday.
– Choi JunSik (Golden Angels 15th)
First of all, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to join the missionary work. I will serve as a Golden Angels missionary for a year in 2019, and I will pray and try to make my team members happy missionaries. The moon reflects the sun’s light and lights up the night. Please pray and support us so that we can reflect the love of God to the mission fields faster. Thank you. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19-20).

The Gospel Messengers
The NSD is the only division among the thirteen divisions in the world that has such a professional singing missionary team.
There is a reason for that. The NSD is the largest division in the world in terms of population. The various religions and cultures coexist. Each nation uses its own language, and there are mission challenges all over the cities and countryside because of the unique culture that each owns. There are still many regions to deliver the gospel to where the people do not know Jesus.
The music ministry connects those regions with the Three Angels’ Messages. There are not many people who refuse to listen to music. For those who have lost beloved family members or lost their possessions or have fallen into disappointment as well as patients who suffer from illness or an accident, and students who are exhausted by their work, the Golden Angels music can comfort them and give them hope.
The songs of the Golden Angels have strong power. It is not merely the power of song, but the power of praise that comes from the gospel. Their harmonies can be a message more powerful than any sermon, giving peace and rest to those who are in deep sorrow.
The Golden Angels singing missionaries have walked together in the wide field of evangelism, and will continue to walk in the way of the ministry until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Those who have worked hard, sacrificed and have carried the gospel in their music will be remembered as singing missionaries by many people in history.
