Faithful Stewards in Mongolia

The stewardship ministries of Mongolia Mission (MM) aims to promote and raise in each member the need to work towards becoming a faithful steward, devotedly committed to service and dedication to God and neighbors, and respecting and caring for the creation of God. God’s faithful stewards use time, talents and treasure for His kingdom.

Thus, following the strategic plan for the next three years, MM stewardship ministries started this year by holding a stewardship seminar from January 19 to 21, 2017, at Ulaanbaatar Central Church. About 100 members from 25 congregations all over the country participated in a very meaningful and spiritual program. Approximately 1/3 of the participants were newly baptized members from big evangelistic series in Ulaanbaatar in 2016. There were also local church treasurers and elders.

Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng, stewardship ministries director of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, was invited as the guest speaker. He focused his lectures on helping new members understand the love of God who gave His only Son for the salvation of human beings, the lifestyle and mission of the remnant people, and how to bring friends to their newly found truth and church. It was noteworthy that usually the longer they have been members, the fewer friends they have to lead to Jesus Christ; on the contrary, the fewer years they have been members, the more non-Adventist Christian friends.

The devotionals, prayer time, and testimonies based on “taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalms 34:8)” were also some of the most significant and encouraging moments. In fact, the lunch breaks were shortened due to the significant involvement of the church members.

Some of the attendees expressed their opinion.

“I learned a lot about offering and God’s love from this training. People’s testimonies touched my heart, and I felt God’s love through their faithful experiences.” — L. Tsagaantsooj, Gobi-Altai Church treasurer

“I didn’t have enough knowledge about tithes and offerings. Pastor Kwon gave us simple examples that were easy to understand. I was blessed through this training.” — Batstesteg, Yarmag Church

“I found really precious the lectures and people’s testimonies. Also we were all united, praising the Lord and learning more about Him. I was very satisfied with this training.” — Shariibu, Choibalsan Church

“This training really encouraged me to live a faithful life of service. One difference from other trainings is that many brothers and sisters shared their wonderful testimonies, and that was a blessing.” — M. Lhagvadagva, Choibalsan Church Bible worker

The confirmation that the seminar impacted the lives of all the participants could be seen by the spirit of unity and the renewed vows toward being faithful stewards. Pastor Kim YoHan, MM president, announced a plan that the coming nationwide MM camp meeting this year will be focused on stewardship.
