Douliou Church, which was planted by a Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) missionary pastor Chung DaeBok in Taiwan, held an evangelistic meeting from December 7 to 13, 2014. The guest speaker was Pastor S. J. Byun, Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) assistant communication director. Every night Pastor Byun preached heart-touching messages under the theme of “Amazing Prophecy.”
After finishing a few evangelistic meetings in other places in Taiwan, the NSD Golden Angels members arrived in Douliou to support the evangelistic series that was about to start. The Golden Angels members together with Douliou church members visited and held mini-concerts at the National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, the TransWorld University and Victoria Academy to invite people to the evangelistic meetings.
Every evening, about 50 students and youth attended the meeting and listened to the message and enjoyed the fellowship with Golden Angels members. Before the meeting started every night, there was a special cooking class, which was a favorite time for people during the event. Deaconesses Go and Bae came all the way from Korea to teach how to cook Korean cuisine, and they also prepared a delicious dinner every day for the participants.
Pastor Byun preached onBible prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation and shared God’s message and His love with the participants. On the last day of the meeting, during the Sabbath school program, several participants of the meeting came forward to share their testimonies. Mr. Lin MengJi, one of the participants, said, “This was my first time to hear about the Bible message and the prophecies. My heart was deeply touched when I heard that Jesus loved me so much and died for me.” On this Sabbath morning, Mr. Zhang JiaHe, who has been studying the Bible with Pastor Chung for a long time, received baptism and was accepted as a member of the Douliou Adventist church.
Pastor Chung DaeBok was sent to Taiwan as a PMM missionary 10 years ago. Even though his missionary term expired a few years ago, his zeal for mission made him extend his term for a few more years. Pastor Chung is preparing to build a new church building for Douliou Church.
