On Jan 15 to 18 this year, Chinese Hope TV (CHTV) staff and their families joined a retreat on the beautiful island of Okinawa, Japan. it was our honor to have Chinese Hope TV Management Committee Chairman, Pastor Stanley Ng, to join our staff retreat, and shared words of encouragement every morning to the group.
The first day, Pr. Ng briefly reviewed the timeline and history in the last decade how God had led the CHTV. He expressed heart-felt appreciation to all our staff who have contributed so much to this TV Ministry.
Now all staff temporarily left their daily busy schedule and duty behind and rest for a while, as Jesus said to His disciple “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while” (Mark 6:31). Yes, this is a special blessing and time for CHTV staff to rebuild team spirit and have more time together for sharing the work challenge and friendship. Especially, this time we invited staff family members to join our retreat and we can openly show our appreciation to their support in many ways.

The second day, Pr. Ng encouraged the team to be like the children of Issachar to have “the understanding of the times.” (1Chr 12:32) To understand the times we’re living and some of the challenges from the post-modern society and e-generation. He challenged us to remember the “Four E” to be “Energetic”, “Evangelistic”, “Engaging” and “Envisioning” when we produce the program to reach the community and the e-generation people.
On the third day, before we visited the historic site at Hacksaw Ridge where Japanese and American soldiers had very severe fighting, Pr. Ng reviewed the story and testimony of Desmond Doss, who was a conscientious objector and saved 75 American soldiers during this battle. He challenged us to pray to God with the same prayer as Desmond Doss prayed “Lord, give me one more soul!”. Pastor Ng also shared with us one of Desmond’s favorite Bible verse “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverb 3:5).

On the last day of our retreat, we were blessed to have Pastor Fukui, former NSD SS/PM and Publishing director, to accompany us to visit Adventist Medical Center and Samyook Elementary School on the island.
Chinese Hope TV was officially established in 2007, by the Grace of God, CHTV launched satellite broadcasting on July 1, 2011 with 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, since then, CHTV has been broadcasting and distributing Last Day message via satellite, local cable TV, IPTV, Internet website and Mobile APP to reach millions of Chinese-speaking peoples around the world.
Once again, we want to thank many supporters from around the world, especially thanks for the full support from CHTV Board members and NSD Taiwan branch office. We pray that CHTV will continue to serve as a powerful tool to spread the wholistic health and Three Angels messages in this last day to prepare more people for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
