A pre-harvest series of five meetings on apologetic issues was given in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, as part of this year’s field school of evangelism, involving 16 churches. Entitled Questions That Demand Answers, the subjects presented by Dr. Ron Clouzet, ministerial association director of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD), were “Who Is God and Why Does It Matter?” “What Can God Do About Suffering and Evil?” “How Is It Possible to Live Happily Forever?” “Why Should the Bible Be Trusted?” and “Why Is Jesus Unique in History?”
The meetings were held at the UB Event Hall in downtown Ulaanbataar from February 8 to 12, 2018. The meetings had to be postponed a week due to an emergency involving Dr. Clouzet’s family. In spite of fears that the meetings would not draw enough people due to the Lunar New Year Holiday, the place was packed each night, with many people arriving 30 and 40 minutes ahead of time.
These meetings fulfilled two objectives: 1) To sensitize seekers, non-Christians, and nonmembers to basic questions about God with the hope that they would then be interested to attend the longer evangelistic meetings in March, and 2) To serve as a training ground for row hosts, greeters, ushers, A/V people, refreshments, registration, and resource people and pastors to train on site for the upcoming main evangelistic meetings.
God abundantly blessed these pre-harvest meetings, with the overwhelming majority of non-members pledging to attend the main evangelistic meetings starting on March 2. Please keep these people in your prayers.
