Alive in Jesus Training in TWC

The new “Alive in Jesus” Sabbath school curriculum will soon reach the hands and hearts of children in Taiwan. With this initiative in mind, Joyce Chen, Children’s Ministries Department Director of the Taiwan Conference, organized training on the new children’s Sabbath School curriculum from April 19-21, 2024. Local church coordinators were gathered to receive an overview of the curriculum and the tools necessary for its successful implementation.

Joyce Chen, Children’s Ministries Department Director of the Taiwan Conference, organizes the training.

The training session was attended by approximately 20 energetic and passionate young leaders from local church districts, all dedicated to the spiritual growth of children. Raquel Arrais, Children’s Ministries Department Director of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, provided training on the new “Alive in Jesus” curriculum for the world church. Linda Koh, the retired Children’s Ministries Department Director of the General Conference, presented several topics, including the mission of children ministries, strategies for teaching Bible stories, and children’s mental health. According to Dr. Linda Koh, the leaders left the training with a renewed commitment to strengthening children’s ministry in their local churches.

Linda Koh presents topics to the participants.

The “Alive in Jesus” curriculum incorporates the best educational practices and a deep understanding of faith development, enabling parents and Sabbath school teachers to lead children into a dynamic, mission-focused, and lifelong relationship with Jesus. The Bible is the foundation of the new curriculum, built around three key pillars: grace, character development, and mission.
