Medical Mission Team from Korean Church in USA

The Washington Spencerville Korean Church in the United States formed a medical mission team made up of four people to visit Uganda. They traveled to the Nyamyerambiko region, which is about 62 miles away from Mbarara. They served at an elementary school in the region. It was a short-term mission trip, but they did their best to treat as many people as they could.

The missionaries gave away shirts with the words “Jesus Loves You. What About You?” imprinted on them to the school children. It is their hope that more people can learn about the love of Jesus when they see the children wearing the shirts.

More than 700 people benefited from the medical treatment offered by the mission team. There were people who had traveled all the way from Tanzania, which took them five days. These people came after listening to a radio program. Among them were some who were critically ill.

The medical mission team received help from community volunteers and local medical staff. It was an opportunity to share about the Seventh-day Adventist Church. An Adventist doctor who works for the local government lent them a device that shows whether a patient is infected by malaria or not. This helped many of the patients.

The Washington Spencerville Korean Church had previously given away goats to families with financial difficulties. One of the families visited the team with their goats in order to express thanks during this time. It warmed the hearts of many people.

In spite of many inconveniences, the team devoted themselves to the people in Uganda. The seed of God’s love planted in people’s hearts will surely grow and bear fruit.
