Baptism Service at the Chiba International Church in Japan

On Sabbath afternoon, November 19, 2016, there was a baptismal service at the Chiba International Church. Geng Junli from China and Erlynda Gonzaga from the Philippines were baptized. Both are foreigners to Japan. The two of them had different purposes for coming to Japan, but now they are both happy in God.

Geng came to Japan two years ago to learn Japanese. She studied the language at the 3H Language Institute and started attending the Chiba International Church with her teachers. As she got to know more about God, she studied with a retired pastor who had worked in Taiwan. She was able to learn about the Bible in Chinese. She studied each Sabbath and was then baptized.

Erlynda found a job in Japan. She lived with her sister’s family. One day, a Filipino church member invited Erlynda’s sister to church, but she was too busy with work so she told Erlynda to go. Since then Erlynda has been attending church. She studied with the Filipino missionary and was later baptized.

We praise God for how He has led these two souls. I pray that we all can experience His goodness. “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
