2017 General Conference Auditing Service Trans Asia-Pacific Area (GCAS TAP) Seminar

The General Conference Auditing Service Trans Asia-Pacific Area (GCAS TAP) seminar was held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, from January 23 to 26, 2017. This seminar, which is conducted every two years, aims to provide opportunities for the auditors to enhance their learning and understanding on auditing standards and practices, fellowship with colleagues from other territories, and participate in team- building activities. TAP consists of six regions within three Divisions, namely, South Pacific Division, Southern Asia Pacific Division and Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD). The NSD territory belongs to region A.

GCAS TAP-A auditors who attended the seminar were equipped with high quality audit training to develop their skills and to be more efficient and effective in their work. But most importantly, they renewed their understanding, commitment, and faith in the work they do for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. On the evening of January 24, there was a banquet and awards ceremony to recognize the auditors who have rendered remarkable performance during the last two years.

Region A auditors were the recipients of five major awards, including two regional awards as the Most Productive Region and Region of the Year for the year 2015, and three special individual awards given to Peter (Sung Hyo) Kim as “Auditor – Above and Beyond,” Sophia Pan as “Auditor of the Year,” and Ted Kim as “Top Regional Manager” for the year 2015. Additionally, three auditors were awarded for their long services, namely, Daniel (Young Jun) Jeon and Pinky Joy Jago-on for their five years of service and Ike Choi for his 20 years of service. At the past three seminars, since 2011, Region A auditors have consistently received both group and individual awards. We truly praise and give glory to God whom we serve for this wonderful achievement.

Ted Kim, TAP-A senior regional manager, expressed his sincere thanks to NSD leaders, saying that this achievement is the result of the full support, guidance and collective efforts of NSD executive officers and directors. He also expressed special thanks to German Lust, NSD treasurer, for attending the seminar from beginning to end.

Lastly, Ted Kim reaffirmed that each individual auditor should continue to recognize the task entrusted to them as God’s mission and fulfill it with hard work. He also said a special prayer, asking for the blessings of our Lord on the auditors, to be healthy and happy as they carry out important responsibilities for the ministry of the Lord.
