The 2016 Planned Giving and Trust Services (PGTS) Advisory of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) was held on May 2 and 3, 2016, at the NSD headquarters in Ilsan, Korea. Twelve PGTS directors from the General Conference (GC), the NSD, unions, and conferences joined the advisory. It was truly a time of sharing, planning and praying together, asking for God’s blessing and guidance as we look to the future to determine how we can improve our services to build up the PGTS Department.
Elder Dennis Carlson, GC PGTC director, was our resource person. He gave presentations on the subjects of “History and Philosophy of PGTS” and “Planned Giving & Trust Services, What and Why?” Pastor Stanley Ng, NSD PGTS director, also gave presentations on “Job Descriptions for Union/Conference PGTS Directors,” “Certification and Continuing Education,” and “NSD 5-year Departmental Strategic Plans.”
All unions and attached conferences presented their reports on the last five years and also their future plans for the next five years. It was thrilling to listen to the exciting and inspiring reports.
The participants spent a couple of hours discussing several general agenda items related to the PGTS Department. They voted on the mission and vision of the department, the NSD 5-year strategic plans, the training seminar for the directors in 2017, the suggested names for the department in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, the reporting system and the legal structure in each country.
