Spiritual Retreat for Literature Evangelists

The publishing ministries department of the Korean Union Conference (KUC) had a spiritual retreat for literature evangelists from May 26 to 29, 2016, in Gangwon, Korea. About 160 literature evangelists who work all over the country gathered together for this event. The retreat was held to remind participants of the importance of publishing ministries and to revive them with the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Lee HakBong at Jeongeup Central Church, serving as the main speaker, preached a sermon titled “God gives you the best.” He presented the parable of the ten virgins from the Book of Matthew, comparing the five wise virgins with the five foolish virgins. He said, “Please look at yourself and examine whether you recognize God’s calling and the goal you are trying to achieve.” Pastor Lee emphasized living a Christ-oriented life.

DuringSabbath worship, Pastor Shin YangHee, KUC executive secretary, preached the sermon. “Without God’s strength and help, we cannot deliver the gospel. Let’s conquer a territory like Caleb and fulfill the mission of Christ there,” said Pastor Shin.
The participants had the opportunity to listen to testimonies of literature evangelists from each conference who had been successful in doing their jobs. Their experiences of God’s guidance while working in the field as literature evangelists touched the hearts of the participants.

Early every morning, the participants prayed for the latter rain on the Korean Adventist Church and the growth of literature evangelism in Korea. This year, the KUC publishing ministries department set a goal of 700 baptisms, 1,000 seekers, and about 4.3 million USD in sales. Please pray for the 300 literature evangelists in Korea so that they can achieve this goal with God’s guidance.
