Chiba International Church held an evangelistic series under the title “Recovery” from May 9 to 14, 2016. Pastor Hong KwangEui, director of the Leadership Training Center of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, was invited to speak, and the Golden Angels provided support as they visited schools and welfare facilities, distributed tracts, and held concerts in the streets.
Each day, 50 people experienced spiritual recovery as they listened to the message by Pastor Hong and the music by the Golden Angels. The members of Chiba International Church experienced a sense of unity like never before as they joined forces for the purpose of saving souls for Christ. By being involved in evangelism, the members were reminded that working sacrificially for Christ is the greatest joy for Christians.
The greatest fruit of the labor was the baptism of Nohara Yukie and Moriuchi Elizabeth. Ms. Nohara has had good impressions of Christians throughout her 70-plus years of life, and she had started to attend Sabbath worship every week.
A week before the evangelistic meetings, she started coming 40 minutes every day on her bike even in the rain to study the Bible. A few days before the baptism, she fell from her bike and hurt her leg, but that did not hinder her from coming every day.
Ms. Moriuchi was a Jehovah’s Witness, but she felt an emptiness that could not be filled, so she started searching for the truth online, and through studies and watching sermons online, she found the Adventist Church. Through fellowship with caring members and Bible study, she discovered the truth and was baptized.
In the end, all things worked together for good. The message and songs on the God of love, the friendliness of the members, online media, the sacrifice and fellowship of the saints, and the support of the local church worked together for the baptism of two souls for the Lord. We praise the Lord who led us for six days during the evangelistic meetings.
