SDA Fair Mission Participates in the Incheon Baby & Kids Fair

SDA Fair Mission participated in the 2015 Incheon Baby & Kids Fair from May 7 to 10, 2015, under the auspices of the HisHands Movement Department of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division and the local mission counsel of Incheon district.

The fair visitors were easily attracted by the savory scent of healthy, brown-rice waffles, which were given as a sample at the SDA Fair Mission booth. The visitors were invited to the vegetarian cooking classes, which the mission hostedin collaboration with a vegetarian cooking expert.

“I am a mother, and I care about the health of my child and my husband. I am very interested in healthy food. I could not pass the mission’s free sampling event. The brown-rice waffle seems quite simple to make but healthy and even delicious. I hope to learn these kinds of easy and healthy recipes,” said one of the visitors. She also decided to subscribe to Home & Health, a Korean Adventist health magazine.

Pastor Kim InSang, who is in charge of the local mission counsel of Incheon district, remarked, “Incheon is a metropolitan city and the center of the west coast of South Korea. There are more than ten million people living around Incheon. It’s a shame that the number of Adventists has been stagnant for years. To revive old churches, it is necessary to devise a new paradigm for mission; missionary work at fairs could be one of the new alternatives. We are not going to miss such an opportunity as national fairs, and we are planning a follow up for those who showed interest in what SDA Fair Mission exhibited at the fair.”

During the duration of the fair, 310 visitors responded, expressing their desire to receive more information about the SDA Fair Mission’s program. The Mission plans to hold another vegetarian cooking class and a detox seminar before long.
