Health Program Collaboration with the Government of China

On March 5 and 6, 2015, a team comprised of health leaders from the General Conference, Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) and Adventist Health Hong Kong (AHHK), held two days of health activities for the people of Huizhou, China. This panel of international health experts shared the most up-to-date health information from the International Commission for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (ICPA)/Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) in Huizhou, China.

In the mornings, the team visited the Huizhou Health Bureau, Huizhou Traditional Hospital, Huizhou Hospital, and Huizhou Central Hospital. At the Health Bureau, the three directors and the health leaders from the city of Huizhou met to share the four concerns that the Chinese healthcare system faces:a) smoking/drinking, b) accident prevention for children, c) sleep deprivation, and d) facing death.

In the afternoons, 300 health professionals and educators attended the conference with 35 attendees from the National Hospital Health Promotion Academic Committee who came from different parts of China.
