Summer in Mongolia is a busy time as the weather allows for many activities to take place and allow people to travel. Forty-three women from churches in Mongolia traveled to the main city, Ulaanbaatar, to be trained in the fourth level of the women’s leadership certification program from June 22 and 24.
Led by Purevdulam, Mongolia Mission’s women’s ministries director, a number of pastors and leaders helped with delivering all the 10 classes for this certification. As soon as women’s ministries associate director of the General Conference, Raquel Arrais, arrived in Mongolia on June 25, she helped to deliver a number of classes as well.
Following this was the Women’s Convention where close to 400 men and women attended a exciting weekend of inspiring messages from Raquel Arrais, seminars delivered by Dr Linda Koh, GC children’s ministries director and Dr. Sally Phoon, children’s, family & women’s ministries director of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division. There were lovely musical renditions by the Mongolian singers, the Descendants, a group of Korean pastors’ wives, and beautiful presentations on Mongolian instruments.
The highlight of the convention was the graduation ceremony for the special group of sixteen women who completed all four levels of the women’s ministries leadership certification over a period of several years. Eight of this group were pastors’ wives. We congratulate these women who made sacrifices, persevered over the years and put in extra effort to complete all forty courses to equip themselves to minister to the women in their churches as well as in the community.
