2014 Bi-Division Literature Evangelist Convention

In the unprecedented year of Literature Evangelist(LE) emphasis, 2014, it was such a great joy for us to get together to commemorate anew the significant meaning and mission of Literature Evangelism to us all in the history of our church of Seventh-day Adventist, at the Bi-Division LE Convention in Baguio City of Philippine during 4 days from March 5-8.

The delegates from all unions and conferences/ missions were more than 1,100 convened in the Convention Hall of Baguio.  Our delegates from NSD territory were about 160, 127 from KUC, 16 from JUC, 15 from CHUM (12 from China), and 2 from TWC.  There was a strong applause among all the delegates when announcement was made that 12 delegates from China were present with us.

Dr. Delbert Baker, GC vice president and the chairman of GC Publishing Committee, was with us all throughout our Convention.  Together with him, Eld. Haward Faigao urged us to take stand as one of strong LE force, in “Power and Fire” that came down at the day of Pentecost.

We can’t help but express our deep gratitude to SSD (Southern Asia-Pacific Division) for their leadership and sacrifice and hospitality that they took and showed us in accommodating our delegates from NSD.  There were many good things for NSD delegatesto partake the Convention with SSD, I believe.  The force of LEs of SSD is very strong in comparison to us.  All our delegates from NSD have learned a lot of new things from SSD.  Their energy, witness, dedication.Their spirit of good friendship.  All of them spoke a lot to us.  KUC LEs were the strongest among the delegates of NSD, presenting special songs, cultural dances and witnesses.

There was a strong sense that we, as LEs, are expected something very special to dedicate to the Lord for advancing in our mission before the coming of Jesus, since this is the year of LE emphasis in the world.  I really appreciate that GC has prepared many pins to give to us, honoring the length of their years of service as LEs.
In our territories of NSD, we have many challenges for advancing our Literature Evangelism.  We need to ask God’s grace to convert our weakness to the opportunities of God’s blessing.  Pray for China, HKMC, and KUC, and JUC, TWC, and MM, and also for North Korea.
