From 23rd to 28th of December 2013, Ansan Adventist Multi-cultural Family Service Center(Director: Kim, Young-soo), held a Winter Vacation Bible School(WVBS) for the multi-cultural children. This WVBS was held due to the growth of the children’s number as the center started the ‘Mother & Child Establishment’ and the ‘Kindergarten’ business, in order to spread the gospel to the children.
In this WVBS, 30 multi-cultural kids attended and the senior pastor (Kim, Young-soo) gave the children’s Bible stories just fit for their level. They wrote letters to Jesus, learned new songs, and had interesting recreational games and etc. On 29th followed up a festival which was given by the Russian School and Kindergarten, having a interesting play and learning dancing and action songs.
Through this WVBS the children had a good chance to learn about Jesus, and enjoy many different activities in faith. Now the center takes it important to educate the kids in faith in their young ages, and is planning to focus and develop this education into a regular sabbath school programs and pathfindering activities in the church for the coming future.
And on 14th and 23rd of January 2014, despite the cold weather the children of the center went to the Happiness Etiquette Education Center in Ansan city to learn Korean traditional New Year’s Bow and to experience traditional way of drinking teas and games. They had fun together learning to play yut, to learn how to wear Han-bok, and practicing New Year’s Bow.
As Korea is entering into a multi-cultural society, now the center is taking a further step in taking more interests and efforts for the multi-cultural 2nd generation’s education!
