777 Mission Movement of Taiwan Conference

Our mission is to proclaim the Bible truth to the people in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Savior, nurturing and equipping them to become His disciples and preparing them for His soon return. The question is “How do we do this?”

We believe that a ministry should involve everyone—from the conference to the local churches, from pastors to lay members, from brothers to sisters, from young to old. Everyone must get involved so that the gospel will be proclaimed to the end of the earth.

In 2016,the Taiwan Conferenceis promotingthe 777 Mission Movement. The Movement seeks to have 700 prayer warriors, train 700 Bible workers, and baptize 700 new members. This will require the cooperation of all the departmental directors and the Conference office staff.

With our goal of reaching 10,000 church members in Taiwan by the end of the year 2020, we will do our part in fulfilling the goal set by the Northern Asia Pacific Division (NSD), One Million 2020. We would like to thank Pastor Jairyong Lee, NSD president, for his encouragement and concern for the Taiwan Conference and the support for evangelism and mission work.

Our first step is cultivation. In order to cultivate spirituality and love toward souls in our own hearts, we made some plans, including a revival meeting and earnest prayer.

Revival Meeting

Revival meetings were conducted by Pastor Kim SiYoung and PastorHan SukHeefrom the NSD onJanuary 24, 2016. During the meeting, Pastor Kim emphasized, “Every church should be a training school for Christian workers”(The Ministry of Healing, 149) and “in every church the members should be so trained that they will devote time to the winning of souls to Christ”(Counsels on Stewardship,59).

Pastor Kim also quoted Rick Warren, a well-known American minister and author, saying, “People are also looking for freedom from fear, guilt, worry, resentment, discouragement, and loneliness. If your church is meeting these kinds of needs, you won’t have toworry about pressuring people to attend.”

He also encouraged everyone to believe the promise of God.“After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb”(Revelation7:9). This means that there is still a great harvest waiting for us.

Pastor Han SukHee emphasized the importance of the home missionary and the character of true Christianswho possess missionary spirit. He introduced seven basic guidelines for a missionary:1. Do not be afraid of rejection.2. Start your work with only one soul.3. Go to your souls. Listen to what they say and pray for them.4. Work hard like a diligent farmer.5. Put aside spiritual superiority.6. Spend what you have for mission.7. There is no failure in evangelism.

Pastor Han also mentioned the importance of friendship evangelism.“Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them to follow him" (The Ministry of Healing, 143).

Ten Days of Prayer

The Taiwan Conference also had “Ten Days of Prayer” from February 14 to 24, 2016. Each of the 10 districts in Taiwan Conference set aside one day to pray for 24 hours. The rest of the nine daysthe district would pray one hour a day.The goal of the ten days of prayer was to recruit 700 Bible workers at a seminar which will be held in late February to late March 2016 in seven different places.

After we complete the first stage of cultivation, the following steps will be followed throughout the year.
Step Two: Plowing (April to June)—Visitation, community service, satisfyingpeople’s needs and building relationships with them
Step Three: Sowing (JulytoSeptember) —Bible study
Step Four: Harvest (Octoberto December) —Local churches’ evangelism andharvest meetings
Step Five: Follow-up—Training new members for soul winning

“Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him”(Psalms 126:5-6). God bless the 777 Mission Movement of Taiwan Conference.
