PKU Dedicates “Michael Asks Why” to Inspire Children’s Faith

On December 4, 2024, the Pakistan Union Section proudly dedicated the book Michael Asks Why, a child-friendly adaptation of Ellen White’s The Great Controversy. The book helps children understand the difference between good and evil and aims to guide young minds in choosing God’s side in the ongoing spiritual battle.

The dedication ceremony celebrated the launch of this transformative resource, which conveys profound spiritual truths and engages children through interactive activities. By presenting complex themes age-appropriate and engagingly, Michael Asks Why provides a strong foundation for children’s spiritual growth and understanding of God’s love.

Sister Farzana Yaqub, the Children’s Ministries (CHM) Director for the Pakistan Union Section, shared the inspiration behind the project. She explained, “This book is a tool to foster our children’s faith while they are young so that when they grow older, they will know the way.” Inspired by Proverbs 22:6, the initiative emphasizes the importance of early spiritual education in shaping a child’s values and lifelong faith.

Michael Asks Why also supports the church’s mission to nurture children as disciples of Christ. By helping young readers understand the story of redemption and the conflict between good and evil, the book empowers them to make choices that align with God’s will.

Parents and church leaders in attendance expressed gratitude for this valuable resource and recognized its potential to positively impact the next generation.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony, Raquel Arrais, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division CHM Director, highlighted the project’s importance. “As this initiative rolls out across the Pakistan Union Section, it reflects the church’s dedication to preparing young hearts for a life of faith and service. Through Michael Asks Why, children are learning about God’s love and truth and are equipped to stand firm on His side in their journey of faith.”

This milestone marks a significant step in the church’s efforts to provide meaningful spiritual education for children, empowering them to grow in faith and live as steadfast followers of Christ.
