The 1000 Missionary Movement (1000MM), which is bannered as “The Greatest Challenge of the New Millennium” is finishing preparations for a great leap forward. The 1000MM board meeting was held on the 1000MM campus in the Philippines, on May 7, 2014, chaired by Dr. Jairyong Lee, president of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division.
During the director’s report, Pastor Shin DongHee, the new director of 1000MM, presented a large-scale innovation for the1000MM, referring to the motto of Lee Kun-Hee, the chairman of Samsung Group, “Change everything except your wife and kids.”
Pastor Shin emphasized the need for a missionary-centered campus, which could be achieved through an increase in missionaries’ stipends as well as a high level of training and management.
He also announced other new plans, such as vitalizing the Children Missionary Movement (CMM) to foster the younger generation and sending the children of previous missionaries as 1000MM missionaries. Introducing the enthusiastic work of two missionaries from the 43rd 1000MM dispatch, Kim JeongHwa, age 59, and Wena, age 61, Pastor Shin pointed out that there are no limitations, such as age, for the work for God. He also reiterated the goal of sending 1000 missionaries each year.
