TWC Pathfinder Club: Emerging from Hibernation for the 2026 Camporee

The 2025 Taiwan Conference (TWC) 1st Pathfinder Mission District Marching and Fancy Marching Drill & Pathfinder Bible Experience(PBE) opened with enthusiastic singing by Pathfinder members. This PBE centered on the Book of Isaiah under the theme “Here am I, send me” (Isaiah 6:8). The children showed remarkable Bible knowledge and stunned the audience as they displayed the fruits of months of training in both basic and fancy marching.

Although the grand Taiwan Pathfinder gathering coincided with a long holiday, church members still traveled from across the island to Pingtung. “Over the past few years, Pathfinder ministries in Taiwan have stagnated or even faced obstacles, but many churches have remained steadfast,” said Pastor Samuel Chen, associate director of Youth Ministries. “Seeing Pathfinder members from all over Taiwan today fills me with joy and gratitude.”

After the opening ceremony, the Adventurers and Pathfinders rushed to demonstrate their skills in the Pathfinder Bible Experience. The Adventurers accurately answered the true-false and speed-answer questions without hesitation. The Pathfinders faced a more challenging format where each member answered alone without help from teammates, yet they performed flawlessly and finished the challenge with distinction.

Following a short break, Pathfinder members marched through the streets of Linari village. The energetic drumbeats and the solemn procession captured the attention of local residents. The children warmly greeted villagers in return, and some church members stood under the scorching sun and shouted “Together in Mission” to cheer for the team.

The long-awaited marching drill then began, led by Adventurers from each mission district. Even when some children lost direction or made mistakes, they kept trying to complete every command, and their small bodies and determined expressions left a lasting impression on the crowd. The Pathfinders then staged the fancy marching segment, and their unified steps—combined with youthful creativity—drew sustained applause.

Kang SoongGi, President of the NSD, and Choi HoYoung, Youth Ministries Director of the NSD, expressed their gratitude to support for Youth Ministries in Taiwan. “We gathered here during a long holiday and committed ourselves to the future of the church,” said Kwon SoonBum, Youth Ministries Director of the TWC. “The hibernation of the Taiwan District Pathfinder Club is over!”

Before concluding, Pastor Kwon reaffirmed the mission of every Pathfinder and invited the members to gather again at the Pathfinder Camporee on February 1–4, 2026. He emphasized that the event’s closing does not mark an end. In their daily lives, the children will continue to grow in God’s Word so they can stand firm in the future and become victorious Christians who glorify God.
