The Nepal Section of the Seventh-day Adventist Church held the Family Togetherness Week of Prayer from September 7 to 13, 2025, despite the nation’s political unrest and instability. Curfews swept across the country, and street protests intensified, yet members gathered for worship and prayer through online platforms. On the final Sabbath, families shared food and fellowship, reaffirming their sense of spiritual community.

This Week of Prayer highlighted the three divine institutions that God established at Creation: marriage, family, and the Sabbath. The 2025 theme, “God’s Great Gifts”, emphasized that these pillars, recorded in Genesis 1–2, still shape our faith, relationships, and life’s purpose. Marriage unites a husband and wife in a sacred covenant, symbolizing the love of Christ for His church. Family grows from that covenant and trains the next generation in values, faith, and discipleship. The Sabbath commemorates Creation and divine providence, offering rest, renewal, and deeper communion with God. Throughout this special week, members rediscovered the beauty of these gifts and accepted the call to live them out in their daily lives.

Meanwhile, Nepal faced intense political upheaval. Citizens, frustrated by government incompetence, misuse of power, corruption, and inequality, took to the streets in protest. In response, the government imposed nationwide curfews. Even when daily necessities became difficult to secure, the church refused to abandon its mission. Members worshiped virtually, strengthened their faith, and prayed more earnestly, hoping that the crisis would deepen their spiritual lives.
The Nepal Section urged the worldwide church to pray for Nepal. Leaders asked believers everywhere to intercede for the new government, seeking to restore peace and order and guide the country toward a better future. They also appealed for prayers so pastors, leaders, and members could remain safe and faithful to their mission during these challenging times.
