Students Join the Ranks of His Hands Mission Movement

Students from Dongsung Academy and Wonju Sahmyook High School in Korea attended a dedication service for the 7th group of HisHands missionaries at Dongsung Academy Church on December 6, 2011. The ceremony started with Pastor YunHwan Cha, Dongsung Academy Chaplain, and Pastor SangWoo Lim, Wonju Sahmyook High School Chaplain, calling missionaries’ names. After reading a missionary’s oath, Pastor KiYoung Yum, East Central Korean Conference(ECKC) Youth director, said “The name, missionary is a name given by God. A mission program is not a free-ride.” He also encouraged sixteen HisHands missionaries to be HisHands by preaching God’s word.

Pastor YunHwan Cha introduced the academy’s vision for HisHands. “We had a HisHands missionary training three weeks ago and many students showed their interest in the movement. The academy is focusing on outreach school evangelism in 2012 and HisHands will be the starting point for local missionary work in the community.”

Pastor SangWoo Im said “Wonju Sahmyook HisHands missionaries are planning to go to Yilan Church, Taiwan for an evangelistic service. Although it is our first time and there may be several difficulties like language barrier, we will saturate Yilan area with the gospel “through His Spirit, by His power, as His Hands.”

The dedication service was very meaningful and Pastor DaeYeon Cho, Dongsung Academy Principal and Pastor KiYoung Yum, ECKC HisHands Coordinator attended the training and dedication to encourage these young people and to hand them missionary pins and certificates.

Under the supervision of the chaplain, those new HisHands missionaries will concentrate on evangelistic activities aimed at non-Adventist students in the neighborhood.
