From September 7 to 10, 2025, Kang SoonGi, the newly appointed President of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD), made his first official overseas trip after his inauguration, visiting Taiwan with division officers. The visit carried significant meaning as it focused on reviewing churches and institutions, discussing mission strategies with leaders, and encouraging local ministries.

The first stop was Tali Church, where Pastor Kang and his team met with Pioneer Mission Movement(PMM) pastors to greet and encourage them. He then attended the Taiwan Conference Executive Committee to share updates on mission progress and future plans with local leaders, and also participated in the Taiwan Adventist College board meeting. Edgar Luz, Director of the Education Department at NSD, and Jacob Ko, the new President of Taiwan Adventist College, joined the discussion to review the direction of educational ministries and potential collaborations. The delegation also toured the high school, international school, and health center on campus, observing how faith-based education and community service are being carried out.
The following day, the group visited the Taiwan Adventist Hospital, where they received reports on the hospital’s growth and addressed key issues. Pastor Kang expressed keen interest in the hospital’s positive impact on both the community and the church. The institutional visits concluded with a tour of the Taiwan Signs of the Times Publishing House.

Reflecting on the trip, Pastor Kang shared, “Although this was my first overseas visit after inauguration, through the meetings and field visits, I was able to directly understand how the churches and institutions in Taiwan are operating. It was a very valuable experience.”
Beginning with this visit to Taiwan, Pastor Kang plans to continue visiting other countries within the NSD territory to personally assess the status of local churches and institutions, strengthen cooperation with leaders, and advance the division’s Mission First emphasis in practical ways. This initiative aims to deepen missionary unity and reinforce the spirit of collaboration throughout the region.
