PKU Completes Children’s Center to Serve Orphans and Vulnerable Children

The Pakistan Union Section (PKU) has completed a children’s center for children without parental care, opening a new chapter in its local mission ministry.

On December 11, 2025, during the Union’s Annual Executive Committee meeting, PKU dedicated the newly completed children’s center. Church leaders, including Kang SoonGi, president of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, attended the ceremony marking the official launch of a full-scale care ministry for vulnerable children.

The project required an investment of approximately USD 150,000. Builders constructed the center measuring 24 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and 5 meters in height. The facility can care for about 50 children.

The vision for the center began with the long-held prayer of a deaconess from Valley Church in California. For many years, she prayed to establish a place where children without parents could live in a safe environment, receive care rooted in faith, and come to know Jesus Christ.

Her prayers and dedication led to a partnership with PKU and resulted in tangible mission work. Through close cooperation, PKU and Valley Church advanced the construction of the children’s center and laid a foundation for a sustainable mission ministry that responds to local needs and realities.

Both partners expect the center to serve not only as a physical facility, but also as a mission hub that ministers to the local community and the next generation.

Although construction has finished, the ministry still faces challenges in sustaining daily operations. The center urgently needs essential furnishings, including beds, desks, and other basic necessities. In addition, the ministry must secure stable operational funding to provide long-term care and upbringing for children without parents.

Former PKU president Lee MyunJu emphasized the need for continued support, saying, “The children’s center needs ongoing financial assistance and the interest of the global church to become firmly established. I sincerely thank everyone who has supported this project through prayer and financial contributions. I also ask for continued prayers and support for the new PKU President, Gee Sungbae, for the mission work in Pakistan.”
