"Pastor Han SukHee, the current president of the Mongolia Mission, has been appointed as the new director of the 1000 Missionaries Training Center.

The Northern Asia-Pacific Division held a nominating committee for New 1000 Missionaries Movement Director in the conference room of the Paju NSD Headquarters on March 3, during the Year End Meeting’s second day. The Nominating committee approved the appointments. Members of the board from the NSD(President Kim YoHan) and South Asia Pacific Division (President Roger Cardman) attended the meeting.

Per the resolution, Pastor Han SukHee, who served as the Mongolia Mission President for about three years, will succeed Pastor Jae-song Jeon as the leader of the 1000 Missionaries Movement, commencing his duties on March 1.

Pastor Han is a member of the first generation of 1000 Missionaries. His wife, Eunkyung Jeon, also served in the Philippines, making them the first “husband and wife missionary” to lead the 1000 Missionaries Movement.

His ministry journey includes roles at Geojin Church in the East Central Korean Conference, Pastor of Yeongdong SDALC Church, SDALC senior pastor, Director of SDALC Junior , editor-in-chief of Sijoso Church Journal, and vice president of the 1000 Missionaries’ Philippine Training Center. Before his presidency at the Mongolia Mission, he held various positions, including Communication director of the NSD, Cheif editor of News & Views, coordinator of Adventist World, Adventist World Radio (AWR), the His Hands Missionary Movement, and assistant to the president of the NSD.

Following the 5th Mongolia Mission session in 2021, he actively worked to reignite spiritual revival and soul-winning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. His initiatives included leading local evangelization through a nationwide crusade for the mission’s 30th anniversary. Additionally, this year, he established a branch of the 1000 Missionary Training Center to deploy missionaries to strategic mission sites.

In an interview with The Korean Adventist News, Pastor Han expressed, ‘Just as the big picture of history is divided into BC and AD, it is no exaggeration to say that my life is divided into Before1000MM and After1000MM. The purpose, reason, and spirit of the movement, which I have repeatedly said in my heart, ‘Once a missionary, always a missionary,’ still runs through my veins.’

‘As I recall the determination and dedication I had as the first missionary and the vision for world missions, especially for the 10/40 unreached, I am amazed and grateful for God’s providence in entrusting the least of these servants. I will serve the mission field, missionaries, and training centers wholeheartedly with the attitude of ‘I will go wherever I am called,’ not ‘I will go according to the conditions.’ I will devote myself to spreading the message of the three angels to the whole world and rely more on God.’

After graduating from Sungsil University with a degree in English, Pastor Han earned a Master of Divinity (M.Div) from Sahmyook University Graduate School of Theology. Currently a doctoral candidate (Ph.D.), he is married to Dr. Eun Kyung Jeon, and they have two children, Jung Eun and Ji Eun.”
