Pakistan Union Section Holds 2025 Annual Council, Reaffirming Mission and Unity

On December 11, the Pakistan Union Section (PKU) convened its 2025 Annual Council and Session at the PKU Conference Hall in Lahore. The session reviewed the church’s missionary identity and featured institutional reports, worship services, the dedication of the Pakistan Union Children Center, and the election of union and conference departmental leaders.

The session opened with a declaration and approval of the agenda, after which delegates reaffirmed the church’s mission and approved committees and agenda items. Reports from institutions and departments followed. This year, the program drew special attention as the Pakistan Union dedicated the PKU Children Center and inaugurated Hope Channel Pakistan during the same session, demonstrating its commitment to expanding social service and media ministries.

Before the session began, Kang SoonGi, President of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, delivered the worship message. He emphasized that “the Seventh-day Adventist Church, united in vision and mission, proclaims the everlasting gospel to every nation.” Quoting Revelation 14:6–7, Pastor Kang urged the church “to focus on gospel proclamation and preparation for Christ’s second coming” and called members “to pursue unity beyond cultural and linguistic differences.”

After the opening worship, the session introduced the newly elected union officers. Leaders explained that the previous NSD Annual Council in November had not elected officers, after which the Union Executive Committee prayerfully discussed the matter and reached a decision on new leadership. The newly elected officers of the Pakistan Union Section include Gee Sungbae as president, Zubaid Rehmat Khan as executive secretary, and Basharit Saddique as treasurer.

In his acceptance remarks, newly appointed President Gee Sungbae expressed humility and emphasized reliance on collective prayer. “I recognize my limitations as a leader, and I sincerely ask for your prayers. I will lead this union together with you in prayer,” he said.

The annual council also presented statistical reports covering the past five years of the Pakistan Union’s ministry. As of 2025, the Pakistan Union oversees 145 churches and 130 companies and reports a total membership of 23,141 members, including 15,219 in the North Pakistan Section and 8,012 in the South Pakistan Section. Also, churches across Pakistan united in the Loud Voice evangelistic campaign and baptized 2,873 people. The northern region recorded 2,156 baptisms, while the southern region reported 627.

In the afternoon, the session continued with reports from major Pakistan Union institutions, departmental leaders, and the North and South Pakistan Sections. Through education, healthcare, evangelism, and publishing ministries, these entities actively serve their communities and contribute to the growth of the church across their respective regions.
