NSD Holds Campus Missionary Retreat in Taiwan

From August 29 to 31, 2025, the Youth Ministries Department of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) visited Taiwan to encourage local campus missionaries and to hold a retreat. The retreat took place at Beitun Church, where more than 20 missionaries gathered to share testimonies, exchange mission experiences, and strengthen fellowship.

On Sabbath evening, participants reflected on the meaning of campus mission through messages and praise. During the testimony and reporting session, missionaries shared stories from their respective mission fields along with the challenges they face. The following day, the group visited an amusement park, further deepening their fellowship and bonds.

Later, Choi HoYoung, Youth Ministries Director of the NSD, visited Saru Church to witness the special fieldwork of the missionaries. At Providence University, located in the area, campus missionaries actively promoted a Korean language club and interacted with students. This experience highlighted how the Korean language and culture can serve as effective bridges for sharing the gospel.

Kwon SoonBum, Youth Ministries Director of the Taiwan Conference (TWC), remarked, “Many students showed great interest. We hope more students will join the club and gain the opportunity to know Jesus.”

Choi HoYoung emphasized, “Campus missionaries, as students themselves, can naturally approach peers through clubs and classes, which is a great strength. When Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) pastors and campus missionaries collaborate in a complementary way, we see powerful synergy in campus mission.”

Meanwhile, the NSD continues to recognize the growing interest in Korea in countries such as Sri Lanka and Nepal. In response, the division is developing strategies that utilize Korean language education and various cultural experiences as effective tools to support the mission. This approach has already shown positive results in Taiwan and is expected to become a meaningful mission channel in other regions as well.
