NSD Annual Council Concludes, Strengthening Integrated Mission Vision

The 2025 Northern Asia Pacific Division (NSD) Annual Council took place from November 6 to 10 at the NSD headquarters, and concluded after five days filled with mission reports, strategic planning, and spiritual reflection.

This year’s Council centered on the theme “Integrated for Mission: Grounded in the Bible and Focused on the Mission.” Delegates from General Conference, unions, missions, and institutions gathered to review the division’s progress, share field reports, and discuss strategic plans.

One of the major highlights was the presentation of the One Voice 27 campaign, an ambitious global evangelistic movement that supports the world church’s I Will Go strategic plan. One Voice 27 will mobilize every member, department, and media platform for evangelism throughout September 2027, commemorating two thousand years since the baptism of Jesus Christ and the beginning of His ministry.

The presentation explained that the project builds on the four pillars of I Will Go: Communion with God, Identity in Christ, Unity through the Holy Spirit, and Mission for All. It calls every church and member to participate through all forms of media—digital, print, radio, and television—while preparing spiritually through prayer movements, the study of Daniel and Revelation, and the reading of The Desire of Ages as a church family.

Throughout the week, delegates explored these I Will Go priorities in four devotional sessions, engaged in group discussions, and joined in united prayer, reigniting their passion for mission.

The session also elected several new departmental directors, bringing new energy and perspectives to the NSD leadership team. Song EulSeob now leads the Adventist Mission and North Korea Mission Department, Chun YoungSook directs Children’s and Family Ministries, Sohn IlDo heads Youth Ministries, and Hong ByungGil serves as Associate Secretary. Meanwhile, Pastor Choi HoYoung, who previously directed Youth Ministries, has taken responsibility for the Stewardship Ministries and Planned Giving and Trust Services Department.

The Council also expressed heartfelt appreciation to Kim SunHwan, who will now serve as President of the Egypt Field, and to Jacob Ko, Director of Health Ministries, who was appointed as President of Taiwan Adventist College. It also recognized Kim NakHyung, Director of Stewardship Ministries, and Lee MyunJu, President of the Pakistan Union Section, whose upcoming retirements were announced during the session after many years of faithful service to the church.

During the Council, a special Sabbath evening fellowship gathered delegates for a time of joy and gratitude. After the vesper service, participants shared dinner, celebrated birthdays, and expressed appreciation to those who supported the event. The warm atmosphere reflected the unity and thankfulness that characterize NSD’s mission, grounded in Scripture, empowered by the Spirit, and focused on the soon coming of Christ.

Kang SoonGi, President of the NSD, said in the closing message, “Mission integration begins in our hearts, when every department and institution works together, guided by the Bible and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Through united efforts, we can truly reach people for Christ and move forward as one family to fulfill God’s mission.”

The Annual Council closed with a renewed dedication to mission collaboration and a united focus on the upcoming initiatives, One Voice 27. Delegates left with a shared commitment to continue working together as one mission family, grounded in the Bible and focused on proclaiming Christ to all nations.
